Argun Tekant, tenor:

Canadian lyric tenor Argun Tekant has been featured in opera and oratorio both in Canada and the United States.  A diverse talent, he has performed a wide range from the tenor repertoire, having appeared as tenor soloist in Ariel Ramirez’s Missa Criolla, Verdi's Requiem, Puccini’s Messa di Gloria, and Orff’s Carmina Burana with organizations in Vancouver and New York.   

Mr. Tekant has recently re-located back to Vancouver after living and singing in New York City, where he performed with various companies the roles of Camille in the Merry Widow, the title role in La Clemenza di Tito, Basilio in Le Nozze di Figaro, Cavaradossi in Tosca, Pluton in Orphee aux Enfers.

He has recently collaborated with John Wustman in a recital of Schubert lieds.

In 2001 he won the “Off-Off-Broadway Review” award for excellence.

Mr. Tekant is also a talented classical guitarist and has appeared in concert and recital both in Canada and his native Turkey.
